Event Type(s): Movie/Film/Video

The First Year Book Program invites you to attend a free screening of the 2011 movie "Moneyball." This year's First Year Book, The Signal and the Noise by Nate Silver, talks about the role of statistics in baseball scouting in the third chapter -- 'All I Care About are W's and L's'. This statistical approach to scouting is a phenomena that has its roots in Billy Beane's revolutionary scouting techniques with the Oakland A's, which allowed him to build a winning team with undervalued players and very little money.
