On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. Physics is Phun - WATER: including demonstration experiments illustrating physical properties, electrical properties, and phenomena resulting from changes of state of water. The final segment will be photographs and demonstration experiments illustrating the origin of some of the beautiful phenomena created by water in the atmosphere, such as rainbows, halos, and glories. Hands-on demonstrations at 7:00 with formal lecture 7:30-8:45. Program repeated on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings (May 2, 3, and 4) at the same time and location.
