On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. The email will include details on how to access the new calendar and how to submit events for approval. Questions? Email

Faculty, Staff, and Students: Volunteer to Serve on a 2013-2014 Senate Committee!

You can be part of one of the most powerful governing bodies on campus! Volunteer to serve on a University Senate committee for the upcoming academic year. The Senate advises the President on policy issues that directly affect the University. To volunteer, visit and click on the blue "Volunteer for a Committee" icon. Pick your top 3 preferences and submit an optional statement about why you want to serve. More information can be found on the Senate website. Placements will be made over the summer and selected volunteers will receive assignments for the Fall. Deadline is Friday, April 19!
