On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. The email will include details on how to access the new calendar and how to submit events for approval. Questions? Email

Native English Speaking Adults Aged 55 to 65 Needed for Language Study! ($10)

Are you between 55 and 65 years old? Are you a native speaker of English? Are you not hearing-impaired? If your answer to all three of those questions was "yes", you may be eligible to participate in speech perception study being run out of the Language Development Lab.

We are doing a study of the development of speech perception over the lifespan. If you participate, you will be listening to sentences and writing down what you hear for at most 60 minutes. You will be compensated $10 for your participation.
