Ms. Cynthia Tucker, Special Assistant to the President and Staff Ombuds Officer

Ms. Tucker brings over 20 years of experience in higher education, including 17 years at Johns Hopkins University in academic administration. She has worked for 13 years providing counseling in work relationships, performance coaching, mediation, and process consulting.

Since January 2008, Ms. Tucker has been the Associate Director of the Adele H. Stamp Student Union, focusing on organizational effectiveness. In this role she has been responsible for increasing individual and organizational capacity in a diverse community. Her work as the equity administrator for the Stamp Student Union has supported this vibrant and inclusive organization.

As Assistant to the President, she will ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations related to faculty and staff searches and will serve as a spokesperson for equity and diversity issues. The Ombuds Officer also provides neutral, confidential and informal assistance to exempt and non-exempt staff employees in resolving concerns related to their work.
