Important Message for ALL Students
No Paper Bills for Registered Students
The University has moved to a fully-electronic billing system beginning with the
first Fall term bill generated on July 26, 2008. Paper bills will NOT
be
sent to students registered for the current and/or upcoming term. Registered
students will receive an email notification that their monthly bill statement is ready
for viewing. The email will not contain the bill, but will provide a link
to log in to their financial account. Non-registered students and non-students will still
have an electronic bill available, but will also receive a paper bill in the
mail.
Log In to View and Pay your Bill
Students, Faculty and Staff who are currently affiliated with the University
will be able to log in to view and pay their bill. Go to
www.umd.edu/bursar and click on the red box.
Authenticate with your directory ID.
Add Email Addresses
Once you have logged into your financial account to view your monthly billing
statements, you may add up to three additional email addresses to receive email notifications
regarding your bill. Please note that adding email addresses for other
people does not
grant them access to your account. This is only for receiving notifications
regarding your bill. See "Grant Parent Access" below.
Grant Parent Access
You may invite other people to access your account by going to http://www.testudo.umd.edu/ParentAccess.html
and completing that process. Parent Access allows that person to view your charges and pay your
bill. This access does not send email notifications to that
person. You must add their email via the "Add Email Address" link
from within your account.
Bill Payment Responsibility
You are responsible for paying your account charges by the established
Bill Due Dates (also listed in the Schedule of
Classes publication). Our billing cycle generates bills around the 25th of
each month. The closing date for each month is variable by a few days depending upon weekends and holidays. Although the
bill generation date may fluctuate, the amount is ALWAYS due by
the 20th of the next month. The University of Maryland
assumes no responsibility for the delivery of monthly billing statements or
email notifications. You may log in at any time to view the most recent
bill available at: or view your current account balance via the
Student Account Inquiry. Students may also obtain a printout or ask questions about
their student account by visiting the Financial Service Center located in 1135 Lee Building, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday
or by calling (301) 314-9000.
Payments may also be received from anyone on your behalf by going to
www.umd.edu/bursar and clicking on the
blue box without having to authenticate.
